Hello there,
I believe that everyone carries strengths within them—even during times when life feels uncertain or overwhelming. My role as a counsellor is to walk alongside you, offering support, perspective, and tools to help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
My approach is collaborative and personalized to your unique needs. Together, we will explore what feels most helpful for you. Whether that means building coping skills, making sense of challenges, or finding new ways to navigate stress, transitions, and relationships.
I work with older adolescents, young adults, and adults of all ages, supporting individuals with mental health, self-esteem, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, academic or work-related stress, and emotional wellness. I also offer pre-marital psycho-educational sessions for couples, providing a structured and supportive space to explore communication, expectations, values, and conflict resolution, helping couples strengthen their connection and enter marriage with confidence.
Creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space is at the heart of my practice. I want every person I meet with to feel respected, valued, and truly heard. You can expect a confidential, supportive environment where your story matters—and where authenticity and diversity are celebrated.
I also teach in the field of social service work at the post-secondary level, which keeps me connected to emerging practices and reinforces my commitment to lifelong learning—something I bring into every counselling session.
I live in the Niagara Region with my husband and our miniature poodle. We are enjoying this new chapter as empty nesters. Outside of work, I love getting lost in a bookstore, puttering in the garden (though I don’t claim a green thumb), going for a good walk, spending time with the people I care about, and soaking in the beauty of the Niagara Region.
If you’re considering counselling, know that reaching out is a meaningful first step. Together, we can create a path forward that feels supportive, hopeful, and uniquely yours.
Looking forward to connecting,
Lorraine
